All of our conversions feature the versatile RIB Altair bed system made by Scopema in France.. Northshore Custom Conversions are 1 of 24 approved RIB dealers in the UK. and we work direct with Scopema allowing us access to essential CAD drawings of RIB Altair bed systems which are used to develop our custom camper conversions.

The RIB Altair 3P is the go-to seating solution for modern campervans and used by the majority of the top campervan conversion companies worldwide , Thanks to its contoured design that enhances comfort during travel. Its innovative "flip over" feature enables quick transformation into a bed meaning you sleep on the underside part of the seat which is "flat", The adjustable front & rear cushions provide optimal support for sitting up, perfect for reading or watching tv.. This seating option not only enhances versatility but also adds significant value to any day van or full conversion setup.

ISOFIX:
Any one using child seats with a RIB bed will need to look at the type of seat you are using. A RIB Altair bed is usually significantly higher than your standard car seat, therefore if the seat you intend to use has a ISOFIX base with a support leg it is unlikely that the leg will reach the floor.
PLEASE NOTE:
It is "NOT" recommended to put a block under the seat leg in order for it reach the floor as this will compromise the safety of your seat & child!

A RIB Seat with ISOFIX is best used with a top tether ISOFIX car seat.A top tether is a fabric strap that secures the child seat to a tether point behind the rear car seat, usually at the back of the rear seat, the bottom of the trunk or on the ceiling. Top tethers on rearward-facing car seats.
Any ISOFIX child seat with a top tether should fit any car with a top tether anchor point, but check compatibility with the vehicle(s) you use before purchasing.

The 112cm Rib Altair bed: - The 112cm Rib is the most commonly used bed in the majority of traditional camper conversions as it provides a decent width bed but also allows for plenty of cupboard space within side units. Our Trident & Hydro conversions are based around this width seat.

RIB Installation & Fitting Kit:

All Rib Altair seats at Northshore Custom Conversions are fitted using the approved Kiravans RIB Seat fitting system. The fitting kit is manufactured from thick steel and is formed into a non-standard box section profile specifically designed to fit between the floor of your van and the spare wheel. The fitting kit is fully powder coated for long life protection and includes corrosion resistant zinc plated fixings.

CERTIFICATION:
All Kiravans fitting systems come with a certificate to prove that you have used a tested system to fit your RIB seat into your campervan. 
The Kiravans RIB Seat fitting system has been pull tested with a 112cm RIB seat, in-vehicle, to the latest EC safety standards at STATUS Lab and witnessed by TUV Deutschland.

IMPORTANT:
The Kiravans system has NOT been homologated by UTAC or TUV. It will not be possible to get your vehicle homologated in France or Germany with this system.
